WCPS Teacher of the Year


WCPS has announced the five finalists for the 2026 Teacher of the Year award. This year’s winner will be announced at a dinner event sponsored by the Washington County Chamber of Commerce and WCPS on April 16. The winner will go on to compete at the Maryland Teacher of the Year competition as well.

Four of the five finalists are members of WCTA:

  • Breanna Calkins
  • Marjorie Chapman
  • Nicole Potter
  • Kimberly Rishell

Congratulations to the 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year: BRITTANY COLLINS!

Mrs. Collins teaches 6th/8th Grade English Language Learners at Springfield Middle School.
