Congratulations to the WCPS Teacher of the Year

The third time as a finalist was a charm for Joshua Edwards, a visual arts teacher at Clear Spring High School, who was named 2019-20 Washington County Teacher of the Year on Wednesday night.

Employed at Washington County Public Schools for 14 years, Edwards was nominated for the honor three previous times and selected as a finalist twice before.

As the county's Teacher of the Year, Edwards will receive a $5,000 technology package from the school system, the use of a new car for the next year courtesy of Hagerstown Honda, free Chick-fil-A meals for one year and an Apple Watch. All five finalists will receive iPad minis from Sprint and gift cards from On Track Washington County.
