WCTA is pleased to host the second Western Maryland Education Practices Summit on August 8, 2025. The summit will be on Healthy and Empowered Schools: Reclaiming and Reframing Public Education.
The summit gives Maryland State Education Association (MSEA) members in Carroll, Frederick, Washington, Allegany, and Garrett counties the chance to network with other members from the region while earning credits/points for licensure renewal.
“I am glad that this summit provides the opportunity to bring professional development resources offered by MSEA to Washington County to make it easier for Washington County’s MSEA members as well as other members in our region to have access,” said WCTA President Carol Mowen.
Mowen noted that MSEA offers outstanding PD opportunities for members, but western Maryland members have historically had to travel to Baltimore, Annapolis, or Ocean City, to participate.
“This event has been planned by the MSEA local presidents and UniServ directors of the five western Maryland counties specifically for our region to bring these resources to our doorstep,” Mowen said.
Lunch will be provided on site, compliments of Marathon Health. The event location is the Washington County Public Service Training Center at 18350 Public Safety Place Hagerstown, MD 21740 (easy access from Interstate 70, take the Sharpsburg Pike exit). The event is free to MSEA members.
Information about the workshops and other details related to the event are available at this Summit Information page. Registration is open through July 31, 202. Click here to register!
