Elections & Nominations (Coordinates local elections for WCTA Board of Directors, delegates to MSEA and NEA, and other association election activities)
ECAP (Early College Admissions Program) Council (Provides communication between WCTA secondary teachers contracted by HCC for dual enrollment courses with CES and HCC admin)
Government Relations (Coordinates endorsements, PAC fundraising, and political awareness/action campaigns in support of pro-public education candidates and issues)
Membership Organizing Committee (Coordinates activities for recruitment of new hires and the retention of current members with social and networking activities)
Negotiations Committee (Collaborates lead negotiator and other member of the team to negotiate language items and salary/compensation annually for Unit 1 employees)
Racial Social & Economic Justice Committee (Coordinates WCTA RSEJ efforts, promotes understanding of DEI, engages with MSEA during RSEJ and Human/Civil Rights actions and events)
Scholarship Fundraising Committee (Coordinates activities and events like Pop Quiz Extraganza, Crab Raffle, Restaurant of the Month, etc.)
Scholarship Selection Committee (Oversees the selection process)
Special Education Empowerment Committee (Coordinates communication and collaboration between WCTA members and special education staff at CES to improve the deliery of services and support students' diverse needs)
Safe and Orderly Schools - Organizing Committee (Plan and manage an escalating campaign to identify needs and lobby for needed resources for safe and orderly schools for every student and every staff member)

Each year, the WCTA president can either nominate or appoint WCTA reps to the following committees:

WCPS Calendar Committee
Joint Healthcare Committee (WCPS, WCESP, WCTA, & WCASA)

These committees are not currently in need of new members. If you want to be considered for a seat on one of these committees when seats become available, please indicate your interest below.
