Thank you for your interest in supporting the Washington County Public Schools. You can provide public comments at meetings, email family and friends with your perspectives and recommendations, post comments and correct misinformation on social media, and write letters to the editor of local newspapers.
WCTA President Carol Mowen has adapted materials from the “Public School Strong” Campaign Materials created by The HEAL Together Initiative to develop local training materials specific to Washington County. Click here for a PDF of these local training slides. See this document for Information about How To Provide PUBLIC COMMENTS TO PUBLIC OFFICIALS – it provides links and details about meetings of the Washington County Board of Education and the Washington County’s Board of County Commissioners.
If you would like to join public school parents, family members and supporters from across the country to learn how to show your support for well-resourced and inclusive public schools, what to look for when you observe your school district’s school board meeting, how to form a Public School Strong team in your school district, and ways to join a national movement to protect and transform public schools that serve all children, you can sign up to participate in free, virtual training. It’s offered by the HEAL Together / Public School Strong coaltion.
